For the FarmBlick agricultural advisory company, we provide a field application for farmers. This also includes a module for optimizing lanes.
If fields are not rectangular in shape, farmers have to drive extra to reach every corner of the field. This costs additional time, fuel, and fertilizer or pesticides and causes greater soil compaction.
The lane module optimizes field boundaries so that fields are as rectangular as possible and low-productive zones are used for other purposes, such as flower strips. The shortest possible track is then calculated and automatically implemented by the machine. For crops with expensive seeds, the track is also omitted during sowing so as not to waste seeds.
The lane module enables farmers to save time, fuel, fertilizer, pesticides, and seeds, reduce soil compaction, and receive additional funds for flower strips and other subsidized areas.
